Welcome Back to Dolphin Pool Cleaners!

In spite of the fact that technological advancements in automatic pool cleaners have been coming on droves in recent years, more people than ever are choosing to stay with a simple suction side model. However; the fact they they are so simple does leave them somewhat vulnerable to basic malfunctions from time to time. Fear not however, because all of the problems that commonly afflict suction side automatic pool cleaners usually have a simple remedy.

Not Covering Your Entire Pool

This is a common problem and it is easy to solve. The first thing to check is the hose that is running to the suction side automatic pool cleaner. Make sure that it is long enough and that means that it should extend the length of the pool and then some. If that is not the problem then the automatic pool cleaner may be simply following a current in your pool that is created by the water intake and outflow ports. To fix this, simply adjust the amount of flow that is coming out of each port until the autiomatic pool cleaner begins to traverse the pool in its entirety.

Loss of Pep – Limited Function

Your suction side automatic pool cleaner just isn’t working as enthusiastically as it did on the day that you brought it home. The first thing to check is the pump strainer basket and the filter, to see if they are clogged. Most of the time this is the problem. Then check to see of there is any debris caught in the unit itself. Then check the hose for debris caught up at its couplings. Finally, the last thing to check is the hose itself, to see if there are any cracks or holes in it.
